METU Architecture Students Inquire for Kesit

Kesit, a journal published by students of METU Faculty of Architecture, prepared its seventh issue around the theme of “Impact”. The editorial team of the journal, produced through collective effort, visited FREA Architecture both to gain insight into the professional environment and to raise their questions centred on the theme they selected. The students’ questions—aimed at shaping their perspectives on architecture and future architectural practices—were answered by Fatih Yavuz and Emre Şavural, both graduates of METU Faculty of Architecture themselves.

About Kesit Magazine:

Published within the Faculty of Architecture at Middle East Technical University (METU), Kesit magazine continues to offer a student-centred, alternative perspective on architectural and design education. In circulation since 2019, the magazine gives voice to the discussions taking place in the faculty corridors and leaves a lasting trace of them. Blending METU Faculty of Architecture’s long-established academic tradition with the fresh and dynamic perspectives of students, the magazine brings together the Departments of Architecture, City and Regional Planning, and Industrial Design on a shared platform. Going beyond the scope of a conventional student publication, Kesit has evolved into a collective production platform focused on design culture. At the same time, by documenting the changing dynamics of architectural education, the magazine becomes an “institutional student memory” for the faculty.
