The laboratories have been designed with the idea that it is a military education building, in which the hierarchical system doctrine is an important element, in addition to the fact that it holds educational functions. At the departments which are included in the program (such as Sociology or Public Administration), the educational units and academic staff that are categorized under the same heading have been dismantled on condition that they are connected through a vertical circulation.
Flexibility is one of the most important elements (inputs) of design. Because the fragmented typology of the educational units is an ideal solution for the need of changes which may take place in the future phases is another reason for choosing it.
Referring to the hierarchical system, a block composed of the offices for the academic staff has been placed over the sectional educational units that are located at the ground level. Blocks composed of the educational units and the block for the academic staff are connected to each other through an atrium. Therefore, a spatial continuity has been achieved.
