"Had now another topic late,
Tell us about that wooden horse thing now,
With the help of Athena, Epeios had made that,
The Divine Odysseus, who had brought him to the Acropolis, was cunning.
He was full of men who would destroy the Ilyon" (Odysseia VIII- 492-496)
At the heart of the design is this foreign gift for the Trojan city and the Trojans. The 'place' belonging to Troy is divided into parts with reference to the street grid of the lower city (Troy XIII / IX), and the square is defined by the wall. The guests encounter a hidden wall behind the whole program and a foreign gift prepared for them. The ‘Entry Tunnel’ extends towards the square over the wall and touches the ground for guests. The ramp takes visitors into the tunnel. The guests walk and feel the wind, the sun, the rain, the warmth, in short, that 'place'. At the end they reach the circulation; As they dive into the dreams, they look for the truth. They then find themselves in the entrance and welcome area, which is the heart of the Troya Museum.
Building trying to be all with the ground does not rise too much from the ground level and it is a composition of masses which have different heights. It finds a place itself behind the wall, in front of the green area. Space between wall and building is a sheltered court that can serve for permanent exhibitions. It settles to the land in concordance with the angle of street grid in Trojan lower city XIII / IX. Entry tunnel staying on everything wants to become strange with its form and material to that place when museum building wants to get in a humble contact with the ground. Grid shapes the open spaces while lower pieces form the activity areas.
Sale and activity areas behave like a wide foyer while they provide the continuity of entrance and welcome area. Functions placed in a free manner are connected directly to both exterior space and entrance area. Space hosting activity and sale functions are attached to the foyer of conference center and restaurant.
It is planned to make Trojan Museum the first destination for travel the visitors coming to Trojan archaeological site. Thus, visitors will reach historical information with right guidance before visiting whole area and they will be educated about the preservation of this precious region which is 1st degree archaeological site. Visit of this archaeological site will be much more meaningful for visitors in the light of the information gained in the museum. Trojan Museum designed as a whole with open spaces will an important part of the archaeological site in the upper scale with the references taken. At the same time, it is aimed to increase the relationship between museum and archaeological site with the shuttle service suggested in the square.
